Terms of Service

Last updated: December 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Jornadia (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

You also agree to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Description of Service

Jornadia is an AI-powered collaborative knowledge platform that helps users explore topics, ask questions, and discover solutions. The Service provides:

  • AI-generated responses to user questions
  • A shared knowledge base built from contributions published by users
  • Public topic pages that surface knowledge published by the community

Your chat conversations are completely private and are never shared automatically. You can browse public topics without contributing. To use the chat feature, you simply create an account—no additional consent is required.

When you choose to contribute knowledge, you create a draft from your conversation, review and edit it, then explicitly publish it to a topic. Published contributions display your username so others know who shared the insight.

The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not provide professional legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice.

3. Knowledge Sharing and Publishing

3.1 Private Conversations

Your chat conversations are completely private. Nothing from your conversations is shared automatically. Your messages are processed by our systems and third-party AI providers solely to generate responses to your questions.

3.2 Publishing Contributions

Knowledge is only shared when you explicitly choose to publish it:

  • You can create a knowledge draft from your conversation by clicking "Save as draft"
  • You review, edit, and approve the draft before publishing
  • When you publish, you choose which topic to publish to (or create a new topic)
  • Published contributions display your username as the contributor
  • You must set a username in your profile before you can publish contributions

3.3 Content Moderation

Before publishing, your draft content is checked for:

  • Harmful content (profanity, violence, harassment, etc.)
  • Private information (email addresses, phone numbers, etc.)

If your draft contains such content, publishing will be blocked and you'll be notified why. You can edit your draft and try again.

3.4 Responsibility for Published Content

You are solely responsible for the content you choose to publish. You should not publish:

  • Highly sensitive information (such as passwords, financial account numbers, or medical data)
  • Content that infringes on others' rights
  • Content that violates applicable laws or these Terms

4. Contributor Attribution

When you publish a contribution, your username will be displayed alongside it on public topic pages. This attribution helps others know who shared the insight and builds trust in the knowledge base.

  • Your username (as set in your profile) will appear on all contributions you publish
  • You must set a username in your profile before you can publish contributions
  • Only your username is displayed—never your email address or other personal contact details
  • You can change your username at any time in your profile settings

Published contributions cannot be made anonymous after publication, as they are part of the public knowledge base. If you need to remove a published contribution, please contact support.

5. Subscription and Billing

5.1 Free Tier

Users may use the Service with limited free messages as determined by Jornadia. Free tier limitations (such as message limits or feature restrictions) may change at any time.

5.2 Pro Subscription

Paid subscriptions ("Pro" or similar plans) are billed on a recurring basis (for example, monthly or annually) as selected during checkout. Subscription fees are charged in advance for each billing period.

5.3 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Stripe. By starting a paid subscription, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fees to your selected payment method.

We do not store your full payment card details. Billing details and subscription status are managed through our payment provider.

5.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • You will retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

5.5 Refunds

Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. If you cancel your subscription, you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your current billing period.

5.6 Price Changes

We may change the price of subscriptions from time to time. Any price changes will apply to subsequent billing periods and will not affect the current period you have already paid for. We will notify you of price changes in advance where required by law.

6. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Restricting access to your account
  • All activities that occur under your account

You agree to notify us promptly at [email protected] of any unauthorized use of your account or other security breach.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe your account has been compromised or is being misused.

7. User Content and License

7.1 Your Content

"User Content" means any text, messages, prompts, feedback, or other material you submit or generate through the Service.

You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the rights granted below.

7.2 License to Jornadia

For Private Chat Content: By using the chat feature, you grant Jornadia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Use, store, and process your chat messages to generate AI responses
  • Store your conversations privately in your account for your access

For Published Contributions: When you explicitly publish a contribution, you grant Jornadia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to:

  • Display your published contribution on public topic pages and within the Service
  • Display your username as the contributor of the published content
  • Use your published contribution to assist other users and improve the Service

This license exists solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, improving, and promoting the Service.

7.3 Responsibility for Your Content

You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit, including ensuring that:

  • You have all rights and permissions necessary to submit it
  • It does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party
  • It does not contain confidential, highly sensitive, or regulated information that you are not allowed to share

We may, but are not obligated to, review or remove User Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or applicable law.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the rights of others, including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
  • Transmit harmful, offensive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate content
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, probe, or circumvent any security or access control systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any accounts, systems, or networks

We may take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating your access, if you violate these rules.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, functionality, and underlying software, is owned by Jornadia or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business use.

10. No Professional Advice

The Service and any AI-generated responses are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

You understand and agree that:

  • Jornadia does not provide professional legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice.
  • Any decisions you make based on information from the Service are your sole responsibility.
  • You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions in areas that may have significant legal, financial, medical, or other consequences.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jornadia disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • Any warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components
  • Any warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated responses or knowledge entries

You use the Service at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jornadia and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses

This applies whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damages and whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory.

To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Jornadia for access to the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have not paid any amounts, one hundred (100) US dollars (or the equivalent in local currency).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages or liabilities, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

13. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service from time to time, including features, limits, or availability.

We may also update these Terms periodically. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. In some cases, we may provide additional notice (such as by email or in-app notifications), especially if changes are material.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.
